"The Malta Freeport Corporation Limited aims to regulate the affairs of companies licensed to operate within the Freeport with a view of fostering the economic growth and industrial development of Malta.

Furthermore, the Malta Freeport Corporation is responsible for the security of the Freeport within the parameters contemplated in the Malta Freeports Act (Chapter 334 of the Laws of Malta), whilst collaborating with all involved stakeholders in achieving its aims." 


The latest Collective Agreement 2017-2021 was signed on the 23rd May 2018 between Malta Freeport Authority and The General Workers Union at the Ministry of Tourism in the presence of The Hon. Minister of Tourism  Dr. Konrad Mizzi who is also responsible for the Freeport. The leading objective was the provision of enhancing working conditions. ​
