St ’Margaret College Verdala Secondary Students visit to the Malta Freeport

The Malta Freeport Corporation hosted a visit for level 10 students from St ’Margaret College, Verdala Secondary, Cospicua, as part of their Social Studies Syllabus.

During this visit, the students were given an overview on the day-to-day operation within the Freeport and met with stakeholders who operate within the areas.

The students were brief on the Onshore Power Supply project that is being Co-funded by the EU under the “Just Transition Fund”. This project is earmarked to be completed by 2025. The residents of Birzebbuga will be benefiting from this EU Co-Funded project as from study conducted by MFC, there will be a reduction of noise being generated from the berthed vessels and from emissions generated.

The students were then accompanied to the Malta Freeport car park exhibition room from where they had the opportunity to go through the history of the development done within Kalafrana and its surroundings.  Most of the photographs were donated by “Għaqda Storja u Kultura Birżebbuġa”.
